Living on the farm
Context
Located on farmlands in the Turrialba area, a land of Indigenous roots, Dalö Tsána offers the community a space for personal growth and refining, modifying and strengthening human behavior. At our center, one can connect with themselves and with nature on a spiritual level, detached from religions or philosophies.
Dalö Tsána takes its name from a term used in the Cabécar community for the sacred stones and tools used in ceremonies to heal people in the community from various ailments. What we’ve created in the mountains of Turrialba is a space for healing, connection, learning and co-creation by offering a place to connect with nature, work on the land, eat fresh foods, participate in workshops, use medicinal plants, meditation, exercise and more.
Be part of our journey to get certified
We are on the road to produce organic products for our daily uses, for families in need, and selling. This requires the establishment of new procedures, standards, and mechanics of what we have been doing.
Since we started at Dalö we decided to not use chemicals, but our knowledge was limited and some fertilizers were not approved by organic agriculture entities. That’s why after 3 years of trying to reproduce medicinal plants, greens and fruits we want to start the process of getting certified as an organic farm.
These lands have been used in a traditional agriculture and cattle system.
